The main objectives of the Flevoland Development Agency are to stimulate investments and economic growth (employment), the promotion of inward investments, to stimulate and to participate in cooperation in promoting Flevoland, and to build networks of know-how.

Special attention is paid to:

* Thematic business parks and centres

* Project management and realisation of large and complicated projects

* Economic promotion of Flevoland and the international acquisition of companies

* Financial participation in (starting) companies.

A sea, a dike, pumping stations and reclaimed land: this in fact is the more than 60 years old history of what now is called Flevoland.

One will find new towns and industrial areas as well as recreational facilities and a large bird sanctuary, a traditional fishing town next to modern yachting harbours. This is all meant to become a living place for about 500,000 inhabitants.
